{"id":190,"date":"2015-02-10T17:16:53","date_gmt":"2015-02-10T17:16:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.computerfixx.biz\/blog\/?p=190"},"modified":"2015-02-10T17:16:53","modified_gmt":"2015-02-10T17:16:53","slug":"your-samsung-smart-tv-is-listening-to-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.computerfixx.biz\/blog\/2015\/02\/10\/your-samsung-smart-tv-is-listening-to-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Your Samsung Smart TV Is Listening To You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerfixx.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Smart-TV-With-Remote-Blog-Post.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-191\" src=\"http:\/\/www.computerfixx.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Smart-TV-With-Remote-Blog-Post.jpg\" alt=\"Smart TV With Remote Blog Post\" width=\"450\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a>According to Samsung, The Daily Beast, and BBC Technology News, if you control your Samsung Smart TV using the voice activation feature, then your TV set records what&#8217;s being said and might share this information with Samsung or\u00a0a third party company named Nuance which specializes in voice recognition.\u00a0 Samsung&#8217;s privacy policy for Internet connected Smart TVs states that the television will be listening to people in the room to try to determine when commands are issued via the remote.\u00a0 It also states that if your spoken words include personal information that it will be among the data that&#8217;s\u00a0captured and sent to Nuance.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung says once the voice data is sent to\u00a0Nuance,\u00a0it searches for the requested content then sends that content back\u00a0to the TV.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Samsung says it takes consumer privacy very seriously and\u00a0that they don&#8217;t retain the voice data they collect or sell the audio being captured.
