<\/a>If you get\u00a0one of the\u00a0numerous\u00a0scareware\u00a0pop-ups that are\u00a0circulating on the Internet\u00a0(see photo at left)\u00a0that\u00a0say your computer is infected with malware and that you must call to get it unblocked, don’t\u00a0click on the X to close it.\u00a0 That\u00a0usually doesn’t\u00a0work.\u00a0 Instead, press the control key, the alt key and the delete key at the same time. ![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.computerfixx.biz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Control-Alt-Delete-Keys-Compressed.png\")
<\/a><\/p>\nClick on task manager from the list that pops up.\u00a0\u00a0(see photo below left)<\/p>\n
The task manager has several tabs at the top.\u00a0 Make sure you’re on the applications tab.\u00a0 From this screen you will see all of the\u00a0applications that are\u00a0running on your PC.\u00a0 Click on\u00a0these\u00a0applications one at a time then\u00a0click on “end task.” Sometimes you have to do this several times to get them all turned off.<\/p>\n Now restart your computer.\u00a0 Most of the time this will solve the problem.\u00a0 If it doesn’t, then you have a deeper problem and you should scan your PC with your antivirus program.\u00a0 You might also download and scan with Malwarebytes.\u00a0 You can download this software for free\u00a0from my website\u00a0from the\u00a0Computer Repair Downloads<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0page.
