Your Internet Reputation

computer · June 24, 2014 ·

Internet HistoryIt’s easy to forget that nearly everyone you meet these days searches for information about you on the Internet.  Think twice before posting comments on Facebook, or other social media sites, that might make a bad impression.  Airing your dirty laundry online could even prevent you from being hired, as most employers do Internet searches on applicants before they offer them employment.  People have also been fired at their existing jobs for making derogatory remarks about their employer or for getting into trouble with the law.  Also, once content is placed on the Internet, it’s almost impossible to remove it.  Videos, photos etc… get shared and can spread like wildfire.  A good rule of thumb is not to say or do anything online that you wouldn’t want your worst enemy to see or hear.
